Office of Sustainability, Climate Action, and Resilience
Boulder County has made significant investments in initiatives aimed at mitigating the impacts of climate change. They approached us to build a website that is both serious and optimistic, inspiring meaningful climate action. As a national leader in government sustainability and climate initiatives, this digital experience serves as a roadmap not only for Boulder but also for municipalities across the country, showcasing ongoing efforts to de-carbonize and create a sustainable future.
We started by crafting a blackout poem, guiding users on a journey from darkness to light, emphasizing the urgency of our climate crisis while simultaneously offering a message of hope and a clear path forward. The climate cards that can flex and grow with our constantly evolving world. We highlight each tactic that Boulder County’s climate office is employing to fight climate change. These pages lay out a high-level overview of the problem, solution, and resources in the area to dig deeper and meet users where they’re at.
This color system was created to provide flexibility to the campaign as it grew. Each climate card is assigned a pair of complementary colors along with one of five neon call-to-action colors. The system is energizing, giving life to historically mundane topics.
